Frogs for a day . . .

Nope...I don't do reptiles...so Frank and Mr. Winklemeier only spent the day with us...then were set free. As long as the boys are happy to play along with this....I'll keep doing it, (the snake was only able to stay for about an hour). I did however...catch a fly for them to eat...Jackson said I was a good mom...I'll take it.

Yup...Jackson won.

Let the battle of the POTS begin . . .

Photobucket
Tanner wanted to know the names of his flowers....so he could get to know them better.
Photobucket
Jackson cried a few times...and re-planted his several times..he needed it to be symmetrical.

Photobucket
Kaitlyn's just along for the ride.
Photobucket

We've decided to have some family fun...and see who can keep their flowers alive the longest. At the end of summer a winner will be declared...and a prize handed out.

Fairytale Friday . . .

Photobucket

Photobucket
This is the look Jackson kept giving me while Eric was reading the story...and I realized...he's happy I'm here...he doesn't care about what I think of myself and my own insecurities...I'm just mom...and he was happy to have me in his class.
Photobucket

Yes...I volunteered Eric and I for Fairytale Friday...about 8 months ago...wow our turn came up fast. Our book..."Thumbelina." Eric read the story....I did the craft. It went really well actually...they were good listeners...and volunteered several times how the book is different from the movie. Although I lived in fear our half an hour would feel like 6 years...it went by rather quickly. Afterwards Eric and I carefully talked him into letting us take him out to lunch...rather than stay and have school lunch.

Morocco . . .

Morocco was beautiful...lots of detail...and yes...Jackson carried his bag everywhere.

The Genie from Aladdin. . . .

Photobucket

Yup...I lost this one. I thought he looked cool...but my kids wouldn't go for it.

My Number 5's....

HE SCORES!
Tonight both Tanner and Jackson had games...and we got to cheer for three teams! We played the Marlins and enjoyed sitting with the Abbotts and the Flittons and cheering on BOTH teams. We had great fun watching the boys play...and listening to Jeff A's shouts of "encouragement"...Eric and I always enjoy sitting with the opposing team...probably cuz we like the parental banter...and we wish Jeff Abbott could come to every game.

A Texas Roadhouse Birthday...

We celebrated Kaitlyn's birthday this year at Texas Roadhouse. She chose NOT to be embarrassed by singing and having to sit on a saddle for everyone to see...so she got the ice cream instead. We managed to pull off a surprise this year..thanks to Tanner who CAN keep a secret...and got her a cell phone. It seemed almost cruel to make her wait all day for her present...ALMOST. Eric and I are proud of ourselves for joining this century...we guess now Kaitlyn can be a "cool kid"...but mostly...we like a bargaining tool as much as any parent.

We had a great time at the Pinewood Derby today! As always Jill and Candy do an AWESOME job. Eric and I especially loved this year because there wasn't one car beating everyone...there were several great competitors...and it was a close race. We took Tanner to 5 guys burgers and fries to celebrate...and we were discussing next years car...when Tanner said "Next year, I want to make a "fun car" and let someone else win." Could I be more proud...=)

Look Mom...It's my weed twin!

Photobucket

Yup...we have weeds as tall as my 7 year old...we're working on it.

Bedtime Fun...

Photobucket

With baseball season in full swing...bedtime is way off schedule. So, tonight when the kids were getting to bed an hour late...I did away with reading. Tanner had issues with this...and Kaitlyn didn't want to hear it anymore...so...they exchanged words..."shut up" was involved...and here's what I learned. "shut don't go up...prices do." Two things: Where do they learn this stuff? And yes, I'm STILL laughing. =)
